2014CoverGSSC is pleased to announce the release of the 2014 GSSC Wage and Benefit Survey Report.

GSSC asked member ship yards to help design a meaningful wage and benefit survey that would help gather and analyze data that would be valuable to the shipbuilding and repair industry.  From their input, GSSC created a comprehensive survey related to wage and benefits in maritime industry.  During the fourth quarter of 2014, the Gulf States Shipbuilders Consortium invited shipbuilding and repair facilities and skilled trade providers to participate in the GSSC 2014 Wage and Benefits Survey.

GSSC upgraded the members only, on-line survey based on industry feedback of the 2013 survey report. Built to capture wage and benefit information on hourly production workers (i.e., Non-exempt personnel who perform daily routine and manual tasks such as welders, fitters, mechanics, painters, helpers, etc.), the survey gives an in-depth look into the current state of wages and benefits.  This information provides valuable data on wage / benefits comparisons, and allows GSSC to develop local benchmark data that is specific to the Gulf Coast region, which will be very useful for members attempting to recruit and retain workers.
