NCCER Releases New Maritime Curricula and Assessments

NCCER releases additional titles in the maritime library. Maritime Structural Fitter - Levels 1 and 2 and Maritime Pipefitting - Level 2 are now available and include competency-based modules, case histories, step-by-step instructional outlines, trade terminology and review question. According to Mike Torrech, chair of the National Maritime Education Council, the release of these titles "are huge steps in the development of a comprehensive workforce development system for the industry." Additional curricula to be developed include levels three and four of the maritime pipefitting program.

VT Halter Marine to Build Two Additional Offshore Support Vessels for Hornbeck Offshore
