
Audrey Kennedy, GSSC
Audrey Kennedy is the Program Manager for GSSC and a retiree of the Alabama Community College System. Prior to retiring in 2015, she worked at the Alabama Technology Network (ATN) where her primary duties involved managing a Department of Commerce NIST Katrina Grant which funded, in large part, the formation of GSSC, the development of GSSC’s standardized shipfitting curriculum, and the development of an accelerated, performance-based boot camp model for entry-level shipfitters.
Kennedy earned her B.S. degree in Liberal Studies from Athens State University in 1998 and her M.A. degree and Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama in 2003 and 2010, respectively. She has also been certified as a master trainer through NCCER.
In addition to her role at GSSC, Kennedy serves as the program manager for the National Maritime Education Council (NMEC). She was the recipient of GSSC’s 2008 Navigator award and received the Newcomer of the Year award from the National Institute of Standards and Manufacturing Extension Partnership that same year.
