Are you involved in or do you support the shipbuilding and repair industry along the Gulf Coast? JOIN GSSC NOW	The Gulf States Shipbuilders Consortium (GSSC) was formed in 2006 to provide a forum for interaction among the shipbuilding industry in the Gulf States, to expand the number of technically skilled workers in the region, to share best practices among its members, and to provide information on issues and trends affecting the shipbuilding industry. Our members recognize that we can no longer take a limited view of the industry and the challenges we face. Shipbuilding and repair yards are facing labor shortages and training, recruitment, and retention challenges. Taking a regional, collaborative approach, our members are working together to enhance the image of the industry and to insure that there is a steady supply of highly qualified workers. If you are not yet a member of GSSC, I invite you to explore our website and to join this vital, growing organization. The next few years will be an incredible journey. There will be challenges and there will be problem-dwarfing opportunities. However, I am confident that the gulf coast shipbuilding and repair industry, working through GSSC, will be more than able to address the challenges and embrace the opportunities.
